Of course! Penguins are really cute (have you seen “March of the Penguins”? If not, I recommend it)! But my favourite animals are probably dolphins.

I am afraid I am not a penguin person… Not that I have anything against penguins, but they live in places that are a tad too cold for me!
A few years ago, my favourite animals were venomous snakes (cobras and especially all sorts of vipers). Now that I am studying bugs rather than snakes, I have to say that I have a soft spot for spiders… They come in some many shapes and colours! Have you ever looked at a spider in the eyes?? They can be real cute 🙂

I love penguins! They’re brilliant animals. They’re birds but they behave like fish, swimming around under the water. They have lots of special features that help them live this way. For example they have a thick layer of fat which helps keep them warm in cold areas. Their feathers are also really thick which helps keep their skin dry and warm. But they don’t just live in cold areas, they also live in warm areas in South America and southern Africa. It might sound strange but in some places you can see penguins walking along hot, sunny beaches! These penguins typically have less fat so as to avoid over-heating.
I think its too difficult to pick one favourite animal, they’re are so many cool and fascinating species out there! If I had to pick a favourite group it would have to be birds.

I think penguins are pretty cool. They are amazing to watch swimming under the water and are faster and more agile then most fish which is pretty good for a bird. They are so like fish actually that the old definition of a fish (scales and flippers) fits them as well. I think the group sould be called penguichthys which in latin would mean fat fish!
I dont think I can pick a favorite animal though which is why I study what is called comparative biology. This means that I look across lots of animals to try and understand why they are so different! T.rex is probably my favourite at the moment because Im working on it now but cats are my favorite pet! -

Yes, penguins are super cute!Have you seen the new Christmas ad on tv with the penguins in it? They arnt my favourite animal though, Polar bears are. As the largest land carnivore and top of the food chain, these bears are terrifying but amazing. I hope to visit the Arctic circle and see a polar bear in real life one day.
