Humans are in fact apes as our species is part of the larger ape group which includes gorrillas, chimpanzees, gibbons, orangutans, bonobos and us the hominoids.
However our species Homo sapians sapians first appeared at least 200,000 years ago while the group Homo which includes all the species of humans that have ever existed first appeared about 2.4 million years ago. That speices would have included your great great great …. x 220,000 grandparents!
I often wonder how differnet the world would be if other species of humans still existed with us today.
